Editing Blemishes/Scratches:

Editing out unwanted marks and blemishes is probably one of the most common uses for Photoshop. Luckily it is a pretty simple process, but it can be tedious and time-consuming depending on how many things need to be fixed. The best tool to use for this is the Spot Healing Brush Tool.
1. First open your image in Photoshop. I typically, by habit, do this on a duplicate layer just in case it gets messed up.
2. Next, select the Spot Healing Brush Tool from the tool bar (typically along the left side)
3. Usually the smaller the brush the better, and make smaller changes rather than bigger. In this image, there are a lot of scratches, but if we just try to draw across the whole line at once, it typically won’t blend well. You will end up with something like this:

4. Patience is the key.
5. Also tools that have been mentioned in other tutorials such as the clone tool and the patch tool can be helpful if the Spot Healing Brush Tool is not doing the trick.
